Never-Ending Rain

The heavy pitter-patter of the rain,
It’s all she tries to hear.
Unfortunately, she doesn’t succeed,
Because of the loud screams accompanied by crashing thunder.

She covers her ears and cries,
Hugging her legs, she shakes with fear.
The crashing thunder scares her,
But the breaking of glasses below even more.

Every night she hides under her blankets,
Her tears not running dry.
Everyday her friends tell her how lucky she is,
To have a family that’s picture perfect.

She pretends to be okay,
Even though she’s still a child inside.
But every night the screams become more frequent,
And the loud thunder comes crashing down.

She prays everyday,
But she knows it too well.
Her life will never change,
It’s always been the same.

That’s why she always felt,
That even in sunshine,
She has never-ending rain.

Just Be Friends…

Holding On

I hold on the what I believe,
Nothing else will make me falter.
It don’t matter if there are hurricanes,
As long as I hold on, there are no boundaries.

No matter what you try to do to stop me,
Nothing can pull me down.
To me, I will keep running,
Until I reach the horizon.

You can try to push, beat or even catch me,
But you can’t because I have a greater force with me.
Nothing can stop me,
As long as I have God holding my hand.

There will be no “the end”,
As long as I don’t reach my goal.
There will be no shortcuts or exit,
Until I finish this race.

With the wind in my hair,
And with God holding my hand.
I will keep holding on,
And run this race with no doubts.

So now I ask. Will you keep holding on with me?

Better Than Nothing

I remember how you look,
Your hair swaying in the wind.
I remembered every smile you gave me,
As you twirled around in your little red dress.

I remembered how you looked at me,
How you would roll your eyes.
I remembered every word you said,
And the way you would say it.

I remembered how you laughed,
How the soft, silky voice would flow with the wind.
I remembered how you danced under the moonlight,
And how, as soon as the sun rose you would curtsy with delight.

I remembered how you would hug me,
Tightly holding on because you were scared.
I remembered how you looked in the morning,
Your eyes drowsy, hair messy, but still manage to look like an angel.

I remembered how I would be amazed every time you sang,
Your sweet voice danced around me.
I remembered how you would surprise me,
Giving me gifts and surprises to look forward to everyday.

And even though these are just memories,
And even though these are things I’ll never see again.
They’re still with me even as I fall asleep,
They’re still better than nothing.

Everlasting

My princess, you’ll never understand,
No one will love you more than me.
Every single one of them said,
Those men who claimed they were the prince.

But the king, my father, would tell me,
If their love for you is not everlasting forget them.
So without a word, I would nod and smile.
I would try my best to forget them.

Every night I would dream of a young prince,
The one who would have everlasting love.
The one who would find me,
The one who would say, my love for you is everlasting.

I dreamed of the words, I belong to you,
I dreamed of the prince on a big white horse.
I would dream of the man with the best smile,
The one holding a white rose.

I would dream, but somehow I felt I would never find,
Until the day you came to me.
You took my hand and told me how long it took to find,
The perfect princess for his heart to love.

When father heard of this,
He overjoyed and laughed with happiness.
He gave me away to have eternal bliss,
His love was indeed the best of everyone else.

It was eternal and forever,
It was shown on the inside as well as out.
He showed me how to be happy and love life.
He showed me how to have courage and be great.

I was in eternal bliss,
To have found my everlasting love.
To be with the everlasting happiness,
And have love forevermore.
